Mizell Memorial Hospital Casuality Disposition Plan 
Casualties will enter the hospital through the Emergency Department, which will be under the direction of the ER physician on duty or staff physician on duty if no ER   physician is on duty at the time of the disaster.  The ER will also be staffed during an external disaster by ER/Critical Care nurses and other hospital support personnel as needed (RT, X-Ray techs, and Lab techs).

Tagging of all casualties with disaster identification tags (stored in Disaster Cart in ER hallway by treatment rooms) will be assigned to personnel from Admissions/Business Office/Health Information.

A log of disposition of each patient will also be maintained by the personnel from Admissions/Business Office/Health Information

TREATMENT CENTERS: In addition to the ER department, the following treatment centers will be established and directed by an assigned RN.

Multiple sever injuries
Sever burns of >60% body surface
Critical respiratory patients

Priority III Delayed treatment (YELLOW)
DESCRIPTION
Closed fractures
Extensive lacerations without sever bleeding
Minor burns 10-20% body surface

2nd floor - South hall

RN charge nurse, 1 physician (will float Priority II, III, IV), 2 LPN/CNA or PT techs

Priority IV Ambulatory, first-aidwill be self sufficient following treatment (GREEN)

Minor lacerations and abrasions
Minor contusions
Second degree burns over < 10% body surface
